Carry On Margaret

The outrageously buxom British bombshell Margaret Nolan had a very successful
run as a glamour and nudie model under the name of Vicki Kennedy.
She entered films in 1963 under her given name and got the role as Dink in the
James Bond feature Goldfinger only a year later, which really catapulted her career.
She would become best known for her numerous roles in the "Carry On"
sex comedies which displayed her admirable comedic acting skills.
She'd retire from film in the early 80s and move to Spain.
The beauty was born on this day in 1943.

Happy Birthday, Lux

Erick Lee Purkhiser, better known as Lux Interior, along with wife
Kristy Wallace (aka Poison Ivy) would form garage rockabilly heroes The Cramps in 1973 and
soon become part of the flourishing New York punk scene of the time.  Sadly the music would end
in February of 2009 when Lux would unexpectedly die due to heart irregularities.
He was born on this day in 1946.

Behind The Cape

Hungarian actor Bela Lugosi is best remembered for his iconic portrayal of Dracula in the
1931 Universal classic of the same name.  Subsequent films found him typecast as a villain,
but still a viable attraction to audiences; however, his star power dwindled considerably
by the 40s and by the end of the decade he was dismissed as a notorious drug user
hooked on opiates initially taken to treat old military injuries.  Director Ed Wood would briefly
resurrect Lugosi's career in the early 50s shortly before his passing.
He was born on this day in 1882.
